Along the Road

Third Quarter Plans

Just like that, half a year on the road has gone by. We are excited to head north of the equator after being in the southern hemisphere for the past six months. We absolutely loved our time in New Zealand and Australia. They are two very beautiful countries that we would have no problem calling home. It’s not going to be easy to leave.

For the start of quarter 3, we will fly to Bali, Indonesia on January 2nd. We have rented an Airbnb in the Jimbaran area for the month. Some people tell us that a month is a long time to vacation in Bali, but we are experiencing much more than just a vacation. Along with some of the touristy highlights, we want to see how people live. We are excited to see what Bali has to offer and to check out some of their world-famous beaches.

From there we will fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a few days. We were able to use some of our Marriot rewards points and get 5 free nights in a hotel. Our hotel is close to the Petronas Towers and KLCC Park.

On February 2nd, we will get on a bus and take it 6.5 hours south to Singapore where we will meet up with the Grandmas for their 3rd adventure! We have booked a hotel room in the Clarke Quay area. There are so many things we are looking forward to seeing in Singapore including the Gardens by the Bay and hopefully try a Singapore Sling drink.

On February 6th we depart from Singapore on an 11-day Southeast Asian cruise aboard the Norwegian Jade. Our ship will make stops in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and will end in Hong Kong where we will stay for a few extra days.

After that, we will fly to Osaka, Japan for the rest of February and part of March where we stay in another Airbnb. From Osaka, you can take bullet trains to Kyoto and Tokyo fairly quickly. We have lots of planning left to do in Japan.

Thanks for following along on this amazing journey. As we write this we are preparing for Christmas in Perth next week. It is going to feel weird not being home with our family. Our plans are to see the new Star Wars film and go out for Chinese!
