Cooper has been doing therapeutic horseback riding at Trekán in Reñaca, Chile for the past 4 weeks. His horse’s name is León. The staff has been so incredibly welcoming, helpful, and flexible in letting us join for lessons this month. The therapists created activities with gross motor, fine motor, and speech activities so that Cooper was able to try new activities and exercises, and he has been doing it all in Spanish! Trekán has been a dream come true. The team is amazing and the location feels like a slice of heaven up in the hills with its towering trees, chirping birds and relaxed atmosphere. Today the team brought the boys snacks for a farewell, and they even gave Cooper a Trekán hat. We asked if they sold hats or shirts and one of the leaders took the hat right off of his own head and gave it to Cooper as a gift. They wished us well and told the boys that they are always welcome at Trekán, that door will always be open for our family. They helped us create such meaningful relationships here in Chile.
